| About Us | |
| I'm Cap Richards, the WebMaster and Wizard at VideoPokerWizard.com. I've been a Video Poker Nut ever since an all-nighter at the old MGM Casino in Las Vegas in the 1980's. I had just read Stanford Wong's Professional Video Poker that describes the profit potential of progressive jackpots. I located a bank of Progressive Jacks or Better machines. I played all night on my original twenty bucks, and ended up about $100 ahead and permanently addicted. My wife Meg and I visit Las Vegas every 90 days or so to get our Video Poker Fix. | |
| Video Poker Wizard Coach has its roots in my desire to share my enthusiasm about Video Poker with friends and family, particularly with wife Meg. For several years I passed out Video Poker Strategy Cards to family and friends. Everybody told me that the Strategy Cards are hard to understand it's not easy to recognize the hands that are dealt to you and to relate them to the descriptions on the Strategy Cards. Having spent my professional life as a developer of software products, I decided to create a program to teach hand identification. When we had a prototype working, I realized that with a little more effort we could produce a full-fledged Video Poker Trainer for your favorite version of Video Poker, with coaching assistance in addition to practice identifying hands. The result was the first version of Video Poker Wizard Coach. | |
| I also discovered that as a result of practicing with Video Poker Wizard Coach my own playing speed increased substantially and my error rate declined. I was able to improve from 500-600 hands per hour to 750-850 hands per hour. This speed increase has improved my average hourly win rate. Meg and I now spend several hours practicing with The Coach before each trip to Las Vegas to tune up our speed and accuracy. | |
| With continuing feedback from our customers, including many veteran high-stakes players, Video Poker Wizard Coach has evolved into the most advanced Video Poker Training Software you can buy. | |
| We have completed versions for five games -- Full Pay (9/6) Jacks or Bettter, Full Pay Deuces Wild, Full Pay (10/7) Double Bonus Poker, All American Poker, and Pick'em Poker. A Kings-or-Better Joker Wild version is in development. We intend to provide versions for the best and most popular full-pay games. We believe that it is a waste of time to practice for any losing game. | |
| The Strategy Tables we use in these programs were developed and tested on our own computers. They are similar but not identical to those provided by other authors. In particular, the Strategy Tables are carefully engineered to help you increase your hourly win rate the dollars per hour that you can expect to win in the long run. This involves careful balancing of accuracy and playing speed to maximize your profits. | |
